New photos robotshow

Before I forget to mention it: there has been a photo update on my Gasometer page. The Robot Show 2004 itself exhibited in Vienna was a flop, but my selected photos are still somewhat satisfying. Please have a look! Yoroshiku! Minasai!!
Other (older) photos are still on http://www.zzzclub.com/airone/fotoshow/

How to cook Rehgulasch 風鹿のシチュー

It happened to me that I had to translate an Austrian recipe of a deer meal into Japanese for a good friend of mine. So I thought, why should I reveal it to the wide Internet community since it could help somebody to cook a meal I haven't tried out for myself. I am still curious whether it was delicious what my friend cooked since there are surely many translation errors and I'm no cook at all ;)

Have a walk at Asakusa

Buddha's slippers, Senso-Ji Temple, Asakusa (July 29,2004)
仏様のスリッパ、 浅草寺、浅草 (2004年7月29日)

On that Thursday, we decided to go to the Senso-Ji in Asakusa after getting acquainted with Akihabara's Electric street and its plentiful vendors on a typhoon day. It was time to head for another important and one of the biggest buddhist temple in Japan. The Senso-Ji area is huge and there are really many pastry and souvenir shops from the entrance to the actual temple. Of course this place is plastered with tourists, especially from the states, Taiwan and Korea, but it's still worth while visiting it. Sanae, a very nice friend of mine, took some time off to accompany us that day. So we could get some first-hand information about different aspects of the sightseeing spots.

If you are interested in photographing you should not miss Buddha's huge pair of slippers on the wall of the arch. Somehow funny, somehow interesting. ねぇ?

Street life

Sidelane, Ginza, Tokyo (July 24, 2004)
Seitenstraße, Ginza, Tokyo (24. Juli 2004)

Tokyo is not always crowded as it might come to your mind. Just walk into a sidelane of Ginza's probably most busy road with all the shops, coffee shops, department stores and pedestrians and you will find a silent place between concrete walls even here. These are the extremes you will love about this metropolis. You can escape the hectic daily life for a while and stroll around in the neighbourhoods of Ginza. Everyone can find his personal favourite spot. You only have to look for it. It's easy, so try it out!
By the way, even though it's not a spectacular photo... that's maybe why I like it.
