Kaohsiung Love River the 2nd

Here I'm showing you previously unreleased material from Kaohsiung in the hot summer season. Maybe these can warm your heart on a cold November day. Love river rocks.

Vienna Fotomarathon unleashed

Water hydrant, Vienna 8th district, Austria (Sept. 25, 2004)

Long expected, my controversial fotomarathon photos are online which would have won all prizes in any other competitions (I'm sure). But instead, I am a bit angry that I am not the big loser of this foto marathon. Because of the jury's bad taste it would have proven me to have a really good one though.
Thanks to Wen-Cheng I can publish my photos online, he scanned all the negatives and turned them to positives for me, a/d conversion actually. I'm still struggling with this Web Gallery application which doesn't let me edit the descriptions for each photo. I hope I can fix that in a decent time frame. Till then I hope you can guess the topics of every photo, good luck!

Don't forget to enjoy Wen-Cheng's fotomarathon participation:http://www.zzzclub.com/cheng/fotos/200411fotom/ (great photos!)

Focus

City of Vienna (1st district), Austria. September 20, 2003

この写真がそんなに気に入って見せてあげるよ。

This photo by Wen-Cheng was so cool that I just can't help myself showing it to you. The scanned Dia quality is awesome (analogue of course). It is really a pity that such films have become so expensive.

What's the link between that posting and Futakotamagawa? Well first off, the guy on the pic is me (that part for Asia), he has created this blog and went to Tokyo the year after. This photo experience somehow was a preparation step for all the Japan/Tokyo/Taiwan photos. So there IS a seamless link ;)

Love River

Love River Scene. Kaohsiung, Taiwan (August 2004)

Since lab life is exhausting in my studies as ever, I haven't been able to post anything recently. This photo from Kaohsiung, the second largest city in Taiwan and having one of the biggest container ports in Asia, should compensate for my long absence in this blog. You can make a Love River tour with a ferry that costs about 100 NT$ as far as I can vaguely remember. I recommend it... My cousin was a great guide this time. BTW, the Kaoshiung pics were produced right after our Japan/Tokyo trip.

True big apple

The apple store, Ginza, Tokyo (July 24th, 2004)

When you live in Tokyo, I'm sure you haven't missed this stylish building in Apple look. So amazing, have never seen such an Apple store before. The inside was rather crowded on that hot afternoon of July 24th. At the entrance we got to know why, the mini iPod had just been released and those guys were one of the first Japanese clients who purchased it. Still, it was not sold out. It seems like Apple still has a lot of marketing to do over there. Ganbatte, *ringo kaisha!

Vocabulary:
ringo = apple
kaisha = company
*is not thought to be the original translation (who knows)

Yoyogi Park

Yoyogi Park entertainer par excellence, Harajuku, Tokyo (July 25, 2004)

Whenever you are in Shibuya or Harajuku, don't miss the more or less talented singer and entertainer lined up in Yoyogi Park (or the entrance) to be discovered as soon as possible. The handful fans can get autographs or even cds of their mostly unknown idol.

Check it out.
