Have a walk at Asakusa

Buddha's slippers, Senso-Ji Temple, Asakusa (July 29,2004)
仏様のスリッパ、 浅草寺、浅草 (2004年7月29日)

On that Thursday, we decided to go to the Senso-Ji in Asakusa after getting acquainted with Akihabara's Electric street and its plentiful vendors on a typhoon day. It was time to head for another important and one of the biggest buddhist temple in Japan. The Senso-Ji area is huge and there are really many pastry and souvenir shops from the entrance to the actual temple. Of course this place is plastered with tourists, especially from the states, Taiwan and Korea, but it's still worth while visiting it. Sanae, a very nice friend of mine, took some time off to accompany us that day. So we could get some first-hand information about different aspects of the sightseeing spots.

If you are interested in photographing you should not miss Buddha's huge pair of slippers on the wall of the arch. Somehow funny, somehow interesting. ねぇ?
